From elsewhere...

"Rough timescale is that the cafe was shot up at about 4pm with 1 dead and a couple of injuries, the Synagogue was shot up during a Bar Mitzvah ceremony at about midnight (one security guard dead, a couple of police injured) and the suspect returned home at about 5am where he was challenged by police who were waiting for him and then shot dead while apparently reaching for a weapon. All in all excellent work by the Danish police - the guy was identified and neutralised within about 12 hours of the first crime being committed, apparently from the registration number of the car he abandoned after the first attack - and the fact he took a taxi back home afterwards!"

"The terrorist is said to have been one Omar Abdel Hamid El-Hussein. He was known to the police and had a hefty criminal record - however this was for gang criminality and not terrorism related as I understand it.
He was associated with the gang "Brothas" and had served a two year sentence for a previous stabbing.
El-Hussein was born and raised in Denmark."

"Sweden has elevated the readiness to handle copycat actions that may be forthcoming including enhanced security arrangements around synagogues and other jewish places of note. Tense situation here in scandinavia right now I'd say."

Insurgencies many times arise out of crime, and if defeated, sink back into crime.
