From the Telechoice Glossary:

xDSL
A generic term for the suite of DSL services, where the "x" can be replaced with any of a number of letters, including "a", "h", "m", ""ra", "s", and "v". See also ADSL, HDSL, MDSL, RADSL, SDSL, VDSL.

Digital Subscriber Line
A general term for any local network loop thats digital in nature; technically, DSL equates to ISDN, but this is decreasingly enforced terminology. See ADSL, HDSL, SDSL, VDSL, xDSL.

From Cisco:

The Cisco 90i is a single-width D4 channel unit that is compatible with both AT&T and Pulsecom D4 channel banks, using standard common equipment.

The Cisco 90i supports four Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) Digital Subscriber Loops (IDSLs) running user data at either 56, 64, 128, or 144 kbps. The Cisco 90i converts a standard D4 time division multiplexer (TDM) into a D4 DSL frame multiplexer. As many as 96 IDSL ports can be supported on a D4 DSL frame multiplexer with a single T1 Frame Relay uplink. Using the Cisco 90i, carriers can readily offer dedicated IDSL access to their Frame Relay networks by adding channel units to their existing D4 channel banks. IDSL provides an alternative to DDS or fractional T1 for cost-effective dedicated Internet and intranet access. In addition, using IDSL, carriers can offload their data traffic from existing voice networks, thereby reducing stress on the public switched telephony networks.
