rowth is due to a lot of factors, one of which being high energy prices which was the case until the latter part of 2014. People never imagined that energy prices would drop like a rock, which is why solar and wind got a huge boost.

But when will that be, and where will the point of intersection be? Hard to say. Given how much of a drag on the economy $4/gallon was, it may take a long time for us to get there.

Four major factors have made the solar surge possible: The eight-year extension of the Investment Tax Credit for renewable energy that was part of the 2008 Bush economic bailout package; state renewable portfolio standards; the Obama administration’s pro-solar policies, including friendly environmental reviews, cash grants in lieu of tax credits and guaranteed loans; and the steep decline in the price of PV.

"Energy" prices, by which I suspect you mean oil, since you mention the price of gas, of all things, are NOT the key factor behind the growth of solar. Only a tiny percentage of our power is generated by oil. Get up to speed before you talk like a pedantic authority about a subject you don't seem to understand at all. I am trying to help with links and material, but it doesn't seem to penetrate that thick skull of yours.

But to think that solar energy is anything more than a supplemental source of energy now is ludicrous.

Whoever said otherwise? NOW is meaningless. Growth is the key.
