Either that or we may end up buying some kind of tail gate for the rig where we can store the generator. The only problem would be theft. Seems like the people who do that kind of thing carry bolt cutters with them. I'd rather find a generator that fits in the locking storage bin.

And solar is definitely a possibility. Our son has a large piece of property in a remote location and uses solar panels to run his lights. Uses the gen as you did........microwave or toaster. I believe he uses propane for hot water tank?

From what I understand, the newer generators are pretty quiet.

I just ordered one of these for the rig. This kind of cutting board fit perfectly on trailer stove tops.
