I've enjoyed many of SBYT's products (or should I say Micropose) over the years, from Railrood Tycoon, CIV, CIV II, MOO, Master of Magic, and so forth. The problem has been they've never been able to make money. With all these wonderful games why has SBYT not been able to make money (even BROD has)?

I think that the problem may be that Microprose makes games for the intelligent user. This means that that there is a limiting threshhold of units to be sold. Maybe it can hit a 500000 unit sales with CIV II. This compares to DOOM or DUKE NUKEM where the number of units exceeds this thresshold by a large amount and they make money. This problem has recently been exasperated with the influx on new companies filling the shelves.

I personally think the best interests of the shareholder lie in a takeover by a BROD or a MSFT. But I doubt the recently hired CEO
wants to do that right now.
