OK...high dropping down and bringing record lows from the UP to Key West, Florida. Here's a forecast discussion from NWS in Gaylord, Michigan. These meteorologist have a great sense of humor. forecast.weather.gov

As I expected, the center of the next high is dropping down in Minnesota and Dakotas. This will help thaw the east coast, but only for a day or two before this high moves east early next week. This next high won't be as extreme as the current one, but it'll actually drop the temperature of the entire U.S. more than the current one. The pineapple express is gearing up, and this moisture should provide precipitation to the western, southcentral, and southeastern U.S.

So...snow in Colorado,needed rain in OK/TX and moving into SE US through the end of the month. Below average temp's through end of the month...after that? I don't know.

With the pineapple express rumbling, hopefully needed rain will fall on Cali in early March. I don't have a grasp on the pattern right now. It ain't easy. Maybe a climate model could accurately predict it, since they can replicate the past to 130 years ago to 2 significant digits.
