As you may know, there are currently several shareholder class action suits directed at 3 com. It would be naive to believe that any large corporation that wished to manipulate earnings expectations would refrain simply from the fear of shareholder reprisal. These suits are generally concluded with little loss to the corporation, few gains for the shareholder, large fees for the lawyers. I'm sure Intel knows what it's 4th quarter is worth at this point. We'll just have to wait and hope they've been forthright.
