2/20/15 Contest update The exciting Greek Debt Olympics continued today with both Dow and S&P 500 high jumpers breaking new records! Enthusiastic biotech investors took note, lifting the Contest median to a 14.60% YTD gain (vs. up 9.16% YTD a week ago). The Nasdaq Biotech Index also gained ground, closing up 10.66% YTD (vs. up 6.50% YTD a week ago), with the Nasdaq Composite Index ending up 4.64% YTD (vs. up 3.33% YTD a week ago). OLIVIER’s portfolio, up 42.99% YTD, remained the Contest leader, with GENE’s portfolio, up 39.90% YTD and OHM’s portfolio, up 37.46% YTD, holding on to second and third place. At Friday's close, an impressive 47 of the 51 Contest portfolios were in the black with 31 of the 51 continuing to beat the NBI. The 206 Contest stock picks have an average YTD gain of 12.52% Below is the Top Ten list. Also below are the Top 5 & Bottom 5 Stocks ranked by % Gained and % Lost YTD. (Prices not converted to US$ in these Tables.) Portfolio adjustments: Following the buyout by BioMarin, RNA (Prosensa) stopped trading on 2/11/15. TOMP’s portfolio was the only holder of RNA, with an allocation of 20%. RNA investors received $17.75 in cash plus CVRs that will not be traded. Since I can’t track the CVRs, for the reallocation, I used RNA’s 2/11 closing price of $18.65 and the 2/20/15 closing prices for the remaining stocks in TOMP’s portfolio. (All corrections, especially adjustments for splits, greatly appreciated.) Have a safe & fun weekend biotechies! Peace & good health, Bulba
