Royal Caribbean's Anthem of the Seas today, as the new cruise ship's float-out took place at Meyer Werft's shipyard in Papenburg, Germany.

The 4,180-passenger sister ship to Quantum of the Seas is undergoing thrust and stabilizer tests in preparation for its April 2015 launch in Southampton. According to a German news source, the ship -- which undocked Saturday but was delayed in floating out due to poor weather conditions -- is receiving final touches in the harbor, where its lifeboats already have been suspended.

New to Anthem of the Seas will be a "Classic" dining option in addition to the Dynamic Dining concept that debuted on Quantum of the Seas. Other highlights include the Broadway musical, "We Will Rock You" and "Spectra's Cabaret" in the interactive entertainment venue, Two70, which blends live performances with audiovisual elements.

The ship also will feature Quantum of the Seas innovations such as the indoor skydiving, bumper cars and the North Star, a "floating" glass pod that offers views 300 feet above sea level.

Following the ship's summer 2015 season in the Mediterranean out of Southampton, it will relocate to Cape Liberty, New Jersey, where it will sail seven- to 12-night Bahamas and Caribbean itineraries beginning November 2015.
