Copper curiosity.
Do you think copper is going to be viable soon.
Just how much impact on chip function would copper have at say a 0.18 scale. At finer geometry I gather it may stop the transistors from basically shorting out or wires creating other bizarre effects. How much finer would it allow you to go than say aluminum, assuming the lines can be etched that fine. Is copper all that necessary or just flavour of the day? How much $ cost and extra process steps. Thanks again.
