Bally Gaming and Systems Announces Re-Entry Into the Wide-Area
Progressive Market

Business Wire - December 18, 1997 08:02

LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 18, 1997--Bally Gaming and Systems Thursday announced that it has re-entered the market for building and operating wide-area progressive systems.

The company's product offering, called the "Thrillions" series, will include progressive prize systems for both multi-site and
intra-property environments. The progressive system will also include product features not currently available in the existing market.

"This is a significant step forward for both Bally and the industry," stated Morry Goldstein, president and chief executive officer. "Casino operators will soon have a better option to serve those customers who prefer to play for wide-area and intra-property prizes."

Today's date marks the company's release from an agreement in which Bally Gaming was precluded from competing in the lucrative multi-site progressive market. The company expects to submit its system for approval to the Nevada Gaming Control Board in the first calendar quarter of 1998.

With headquarters in Las Vegas, Bally Gaming and Systems is a subsidiary of Alliance Gaming Corp. (Nasdaq:ALLY). Alliance is a diversified gaming company engaged primarily in the design, manufacture and distribution of advanced gaming devices and systems worldwide, is the nation's largest gaming machine route operator, and operates two regional casinos.
