Right. Podunk county cops "investigated". Of course, there was at least enough credible suggestion to trigger the "investigation."

“We haven’t had a lot of crime out there. They have not been unfriendly or rude in any way. They do want their privacy. It is a concern. We’re monitoring them, and I believe they’re monitored federally, although I don’t know that for sure because they’re not going to tell you."

So, the sheriff says they're not rude or unfriendly. Case closed.

As a practical matter, I would assume they have every right to plan their next attack from within the United States. As long as they don't tell anyone.
