Since Feb 20, I do have to say the pattern did change. It didn't get warmer (I hoped it did); it just changed. It's good though...now the mountains, west coast, and interior are getting more snow. The pattern we're in now should persist for the next 45 days. Note, 5 degrees below average on Mar 1 is different than 5 degrees below average on Mar 31.

Anyways, this pattern is part of the negative Atlantic Multidecadal Oscillation. I'll study things within the next week and comment in a few days.
