Actually, Aetna too had similar problems as Pacificare as Oxford,
but they were somewhat acquisition-related rather
than out-of-the-blue problems. One could probably argue all
these problems are growth issues - whether internal or by
acquisition doesn't really matter - and that the source of the
problem is lack of history. The question then becomes who has
the balance sheet to survive further hits, and how likely and
significant will those hits be?
