HI Jim--you have very eloquently explained the dilemma of exiting trades properly. The irony is that we all spend an endless amount of time and employ various techniques to determine the proper entry points -- but when it comes to exiting a trade we don't put in a fraction of the time to determine when that should be. I know that is the weakness in my trading -- and if I can sucessfully address this, I would be a lot more successful in my trading. Maybe someone should start a thread that deals with just the area of "exit techniques and strategies"---though I suspect that it will never make the "hot subject" category, since it does not look to double ones money every week:) Regards
