Merry Christmas Nokia followers both within the GSM camp and without. I'm off to Mojave desert for the holidays. I know there are some other Finns lurking around... why don't you report here if Helsingin Sanomat has any new tidbits about 3G developments so that the gang will stay up to date.
It seems that the largest private operator in France has sided with Nokia/Ericsson proposal. So now the national German and French companies have sided with Siemens/Alcatel as expected, but their biggest private rivals, Mannesman and FRG (or whatever) have backed the Nordic proposal. Looks good to me if the ranks are splitting within the core Siemens/Alcatel market. There is speculation that 71% would be enough votes to be decisive. So even a modest swing could boost the current 59% to that level.
See you next year.
