I don't want to sound as if my head is buried in the sand....

But is there a chacne tha AMAT will NOT warn about earnings in the coming quarters? Assuming we can take Mr Morgan at his word, the next quarter is in the bag. If this is true, does anyone think AMAT is waiting to see, what, if any orders will be canceled for the second half of 98 before offering any guidance? And as one post mentioned, the stock won't go up because they've made next Q's earnings, but based on the trend of earnings for the future. So what happens IF
AMAT states that Asia will not have a significant impact on earnings in 98 (let's assume such an announcement comes at the around the time of 2nd q results), will that return confidence to this sector? Is there a chance that this could happen?

Still holding Jan 00 30's and writing calls just in case. Thank you all.
