I suppose when you are in the middle of a pond you don't worry much about running out of water and do little in the way of infrastructure for those un-rainy days

Still, I can't sympathize with folks claiming water shortages in areas criss crossed with perpetually flowing rivers

The Columbia discharges 265,000 cu ft/sec, and the Colorado discharge is nil
