They used scrap metal and wood, and are using a fountain pump to circulate the water for their sluice. The guys have been busy with other projects, so no gold panning lately. The gold nuggets in the links I pasted were found with metal detectors. I think we'd have to go east of the mts if we wanted to seriously hunt for gold using one as I believe most of the gold around here is in the rivers or deep under ground?

Although we can see a few mines up on the mts when we look east. These mines are private, and we'd never trespass.

This is the view from our river property. Using binoculars, you can see several mines.
