There are fundamental facts that known and established, but there are also some things that are believed to be factual which are not. As an example, Elizabeth Warren's outrageous "paper" (I call it that generously) on Medical Bankruptcy, AKA "The Harvard Study". While it was a lie, if you google the subject today once you get through the ambulance chasers, you'll undoubtedly find references to that paper. In fact, you'll find news articles that reference other news articles that reference others still, ultimately pointing back to Warren's paper. And in fact, there are few credible sources that would suggest medical expenses are a large source of personal bankruptcy, because they aren't. It may be that Google will handle this in an impressive manner, but I'd be willing to bet that this paper continues to be the basis of claims that medical expenses caused a large proportion of personal bankruptcies even though it isn't true. We'll see.
