Mark - Re: " regarding your contempt for 70% of the U.S. population"

You're reading comprehension needs adressing. I do not have contempt for 70% of the population. Please re-read all my posts and locate the word contempt. I'm sure you will not find it.

And please - spare me the 50 cent words. I'll stipulate that you have a good vocabulary - or access to a thesaurus and dictionary.

What I did voice was my opinion of the computer needs and probable likes/dislikes of the vast majority of 70% of the population. This is my assessment - if these 70% wanted or needed a computer, they would have it. Pure and simple.

Computers are cheap. Their ease of use varies from simple (as in the games you cited) to quite complex. My observation is that a great majority of people have neither the inclination, aptitude nor desire to use them.

This isn't contempt - it's an observation and my opinion of it.

Don't forget basic statistics - half the people in any population are not as intelligent as the other half; half of the people are not as motivated as the other half.

People are different. Fact of Life.
