I really dont have a strong idea on how this is going to play out. Samsung has stopped the bleeding and it looks like they have a very good product offering, but the way I look at it, Apple has nearly become the "default" choice for high-end buyers. It was easy to have a reason to buy something other than Apple when there was no large screen iPhone...but now? Customer loyalty to Samsung/Android looks like it would be the primary reason.

Pretty much my thoughts as well. Samsung's high end sales have contracted in the past 2 years, but we haven't seen definitive evidence that Apple's dealt a death blow. It might just be that, like with the iPhone 5/5C/5S, Samsung's customers were waiting for a more compelling product to initiate an upgrade cycle. That said, it's harder for me to imagine Samsung having sustained growth with the S line beyond cyclical replacement (eg Apple's worse case scenario is Samsung's best case).
