I happen to agree with you that Internet Explorer is a pretty nifty browser. However, I did not find any real value in the "desktop integration" features, so I uninstalled them.

There is no reason why a browser absolutely has to be integrated with the operating system. If they want to, Microsoft can make the browser an add-on and STILL have it highly integrated with the OS, if that's what the user wants. Remember Norton Desktop for Windows?

They are simply lying when they say that they can't make an OS without integrating the browser.

I would prefer that they make the operating system more stable instead of monkeying around with the interface.
