Dear New feature discussion participants,

The live updates beta continues with all level 60 (subscriber) and higher members. We have been turning the system off and on for periods as we retool the code. For those in the beta, the following audio and video cues occur in conjunction with the listed events below (note that the audio toggle icon next to the Discover button disables all audio):

New post recommendation:

Visual: The Rec star on your Mail menu star fades out and back in while spinning.
Audio: This sound

New message to you - public (a public reply to a public post of yours):

Visual: The yellow number representing your total public and private inbox count will flicker as it increases.
Audio: This sound

New message to you - private ("PM"):

Visual: Same as above.
Audio: This sound

New post to a board that you have SubjectMarked:

Visual: If this would increase your total number of SubjectMarks with new posts, The yellow number representing your SubjectMark count will flicker along with the word "SubjectMarks". Otherwise, only the word "SubjectMarks" itself will flicker.
Audio: This sound

New post by a Member you have PeopleMarked:
Visual: If this would increase your total number of PeopleMarks with new posts, The yellow number representing your PeopleMark count will flicker. Otherwise, the word "PeopleMarks" itself will flicker.
Audio: This sound

Perhaps we may we need to get more granular on the audio controls; that is, to allow the enabling or disabling of the above audio notifications individually. Or perhaps having the audio accompaniment with the SubjectMarked posts is simply too busy... Your feedback on actual experience, and constructive ideas and suggestions on how any of the interface update might be best improved would be most welcome.

Regards,

@Dima
