I have been tracking the Baltic Dry Index for quite some time. Since the market bottom in 2009 there has been an almost complete disconnect between it and the S&P 500. Can this disconnect continue on forever? No of course not but the BDI trading to new lows is not thus far a great indicator that the S&P 500 is heading lower. At least not for the last 4 years. RtS
