Microsoft will be giving Windows 10 away for free to everyone, regardless of whether your copy of Windows is counterfeit or real. Apparently this is part of some strategy to regain customers in China where more than 75% of Windows computers operate on counterfeit software. They think they'll be able to sell copies of Microsoft Office or some such thing.
