| | | This is the updated "long table" showing Bookings and Billings data going back to 1991.
The table now shows data for January and February of 24 months. Out of those 24 months, Bookings for this year, 2015, are lower than for the 7 months of 1996, 00, 01, 04, 07, 11, and 2012. Billings for this year, 2015, are lower than for the 10 months of 1998, 00, 01, 05, 06, 07, 08, 11, 12, and 2014.
It would be nice to see a study out of SEMI detailing all of the factors that have caused this type of performance over all these years. I sense that there are many reasons for the lack of an ever upward Bookings and Billings scenario, but not having quantified data it is hard to come to definitive conclusions. SEMI should have a lot of smart people who have the available data to put out a good report. Also, it would be nice to know if the past performance represents the "norm" going forward. When we are at 2020 and 2025 will the "status quo" be numbers that are very similar to the present numbers?
