I think selling for a profit is an easy thing to do. You weigh risks, rewards, events, and greed and sell or don't. Or if you have a predetermined plan, you just hit a number and sell. The thing that is always extremely tough for me if whether to cut my losses (after a bad buy) or ride it out some more. That always is toughest for me.
