Ken "IOM Super Bull" Marcus responded:

>>The "Rocket" is not out yet.<<

Neither is Jaz2.

>>I don't believe that an undercapitalized, red ink gushing, Jaz copying company like Syquest beat Iomega to the MR removable hard drive market.<<

Believe it. They are about to starting in March/April. *Jaz copying? LOL! I guess that's why all of a sudden, Iomega put out ads to hire people with experience in MR tech! Face it, IOM fell behind the curve.

>>It's a little easier for Syquest, they can just abandon their base with each new product that comes out. EZ135 was not compatible with previous Syquest products, neither was the 230, neither was the Syjet, neither is the Sparq, neither will the Rocket be.<<

But wait... I thought that backward compatibility wasn't important for IOM bulls? Isn't the Sony HiFi backward compatible with 1.44 floppy and Zip isn't? The Bulls here say all the time here about how that isn't important. Please at least stay consistent with the arguments regarding the importance of backward compatibility.

>>Nice thing about Iomega is that they do consumer research, they know what the customer will pay before they actually ship and price the product.<<

Last I heard, Zip Plus is not exactly flying off the shelves.
