... anybody want to dispute that, name an acitvity or attempt at activity that is not, in some sense, about control ... you're just sitting around drinking beer with some nachos, don't wanna control anything? - ah, but you want that beer controlled, lest you spill its precious drops, and you better control the tostados crumbs right completely out of the couch this time or the wife will go off her nut again [i.e. become uncontrolled], and in any case, you're only able to try for this non-control state because things around you are not, to your present awareness, out of control - you haven't noticed so far that your house is on fire, daughter's boyfriend has yet to exhibit his axe-murderer traits, notification of your next monday's income tax audit is still in the mail, etc etc
We like control, as a species, attraction to it has been a strong positive evolutionary trait, without any doubt

Hmm, well everything i tried typing in after that started to sound nasty, and i got to wondering if that would be productive, if maybe i better control that, lol ... but here's the basic idea it was all to support - what if all the irritating stuff had to have operative cookies going just to start up in the first place? -
