>> Just about everything....

Okay, nice, specific answer there...

>> From the stories about how he use to walk around the women's rooms in just a robe when he was in college

A totally discredited story, posted at the "Daily Beast", what can only be considered as the National Inquirer of Liberal blog sites, and totally discredited as unsubstantiated charges leveled against someone with apparently astoundingly good character without the slightest evidence. The charges are decades old and claimed by someone who scarcely knew the guy then, let alone now.

It is same bullshit they pulled on Romney, and seems to be developing into a routine on the parts of liberal bloggers and news writers.

>> to his first speech when announcing he was running for president in which he alienated at least 20% of the electorate.

Okay, so what you have is

- "Just about everything";
- "He wore a bathrobe in the dorm 30 years ago"; and
- "He pissed off some voters at the beginning of the primary in an effort to solidify his base."

You honestly think that makes him a "nutjob"?

I think if you're going to make the statement, it is fine. But when called upon to back it up you either back it up or you say, "I was wrong." At this point, objectively, I'd have to say you were wrong.

I'm undecided how much I do or don't like Cruz. There is no doubt he is one of the two most intelligent persons who will be in the race (the other being Carson, and none others, left or right, coming close). I do know that I came here on this very thread last March and commented that he might be too extreme. Some of the conservatives on here called on me to support that position that he was too extreme and I could not.

I don't believe you can, either. He is not a nutjob. I think he'll have the best qualifications of anyone in the race. I will support Carson if he can win because I very much would like to see a non-politician run and win, and I do think Carson would be a fantastic president.

I do not think you're necessarily being stupid about it but I do think your mind is closed and you're not thinking outside the box.
