I lived just north of D.C. for 10-years and often visited the Mall . . .
I used to see that happening all of the time and I would very nicely go over and tell the kids to stop climbing on the statues . . .
and then I would explain to them what these people of the statues did before they were even born and why we should respect their memories.
I usually got weird looks and then kids running away . . but some of the more mature kids understood and said they were sorry.
Our public schools should be teaching our GREAT history.
