PT - My sources are several telecom oriented newsletters such as Paul Kagan's, a First Call research machine for Street research and 17 years of Street contacts.

I use the 7mm million number to illustrate a point. Think about a fully built out packet switched network covering 85%-90% of the US population as an office building with variable rent. You only pay for the time you're in it. When you're not in your space, I can rent it out to some one else. I charge higher rent for some users depending on what they need from me but can charge a base rent to everyone.

I could even add a few floors here and there if I need to.

There are only four quesitons. Will I have enough tenants? Can I charge them enough rent to make money with out bringing in competition? How easy can someone set up a competing building? Can I hire a good building manager?

Perhaps not a perfect analogy but you get the point.
