"What's the EXACT rule on repenting gregore? Can you clarify that for me?"

Since you asked I will give it my best. Biblical repentance is a matter of the Heart that is given as a gift to those whom God has chosen to bestow it on. It's not a stunt or a work you can perform to win a prize. The thief on the cross repented after a life of crime and recognized not only his own sinfulness, but also that Jesus was the one who held his fate in His hands. Repentance literally means to change your mind. That change, on the one hand, involves recognizing your own sin and turning away from that sin, but in turning away, there also entails a turning to faith in Jesus Christ and His atoning sacrifice on our behalf. True repentance leads to faith and faith is always accompanied by works. Hope that is helpful to you.
