There are lots of people who say Christ DID change their lives. And I gave you examples of them. Not just lots, I would say millions.....and there are a billion Muslims say the same about their god..... Believing in supernatural beings, I think, is the result of fear of the unknown and of being uneducated. Voltaire said "if God did not exist, he would have to be invented" for good reason. The ignorant need leadership of some kind and fear is a great tool to use to become their leader. Christ as a god, I think is another invention allowing the faithful to have a human to relate to instead of a statue. Ask any 10 people to describe God and you'll never get the same description from any. But Christ is a different case in which most mistakenly envision a white male sometimes with blue eyes.... The practice of Christianity is much the same as other religions based in the mid East......eg dress, dietary laws, calender, superiority of men over women, education rights, and historical stories, the parallels are astonishing. I'm going to Peru and central America in a couple of weeks....it will be interesting see how their ancients worshiped...
Was his conversion a good thing or a bad thing? Say yes or no, Shep. Only he can say whether is was good or bad, but anything that changes a terrorist is good, even if it's a rifle shot to the head....... Many of our black people have converted to Islam which instructs no drugs, crime, cleanliness, smoking,........is that a good thing for them????? Muhammed Ali, Kareem Abdul Jabbar being two of the most famous...
Two talked at length, describing family problems, promiscuity, drug use, etc. The rest trooped up front near the end each with a sign describing serious problems they'd had before God made them new. An alcoholic, a man with suicidal thoughts and depression, a woman who'd had a malignant brain tumor, a man who was once facing 48 years in prison, and more. A cheap form of psychology.........and somewhere inside each one, a light bulb turned on....and now the invention comes into play.... If it works for them great, but leaning on such excuses gives me a guilty conscience...........look for the real reasons not imaginary ones. And I've told you many times, I don't hate anything except that word which is among your favorites to justify your weak reasoning. |
