There exists a segment of the gay population which feels it must exhibit its claim on sexual orientation. These people seem to be hostile about the entire situation. They have made their lives about "coming out".

And they haven't figured out that most of us just don't give a shit one way or the other.

It is a very convoluted argument: "We want to be treated like everyone else..."

But "everyone else" isn't running around acting like a fool putting their sexuality on display. If you don't want to be treated like a public spectacle, just don't act like one.
