Why have a religion if it doesn't change your life........ ISIS and the Taliban are cutting heads off to make their religious targets change their life's....... Christians did the same and continue today is much milder form.....eg pass laws to discriminate against those who don't follow their religion (or their version of their religion)..
I think fear is the basis of atheism. What's better, to face a Creator you aren't reconciled to or to go to sleep forever? You couldn't be further from the truth......more people would admit to atheism except for the fear and trepidation of shedding the brain washing they received since toddler hood......and many reason as you do, .....hey, why take a chance that there may be god, costs me nothing except my conscience....
Sorry, it's not about what Jesus looks like Yes, it is but coming up with a likeness of Jesus to describe is a helluva lot easier than describing what your main god looks like.....The description of a 3rd god of yours, ie Satan, is a lot easier on you, the church cartoonists have taken care of that.
Can't deny that, can you? Lots of people have their lives changed without religion, AA uses religion but only to a small extent and you don't need it to get their help.....there are all kinds of drug and alcohol abuse programs that work without Jesus......
