Here is another one that I think belongs on the sleeper thread... An amateur investor in 1944, Anne Scheiber invested $5,000 in a small number of quality stocks and held on for the long haul. She almost never traded. When she died in 1995, her $5,000 had turned into $22 million -- a rate of return that places her in the company of super star investor Warren Buffet. And once again, hooray.
