Bentway,
Why do you believe in Jehova over Xenu or Allah?
Every other "god" shares one or more of these characteristics:

- They emphasize doing something to earn your salvation.
- They have been created to fill some sort of narrative or answer some question that couldn't be explained with science.
- They reflect the characteristics of the culture that gave birth to said "deity."

Jesus Christ, on the other hand, emphasizes faith over works, and reconciliation over condemnation. He is unique in that he is the only one in all of history that embodies these virtues. No other "god" does this.

And even in our post-modern world, where science has explained almost every aspect of the observable world and is making inroads into the unseen physical world (Higgs Boson, quantum mechanics, etc.), Jesus Christ still has the answers for a broken, messed up world where people are living broken, messed up lives.

You don't need Jesus Christ to explain the gaps in science. You don't need to use Jesus Christ as a "crutch" for anything that the modern world can but fails to provide. You need him because every time faith, forgiveness, and reconciliation has been tried, it works.

Not only that, but Jesus Christ is the one true Lord that crosses cultural boundaries. Allah is a product of the Middle East, Buddha is an Eastern figure that people in the West seek to emulate, but Jesus isn't confined to western ideals or western culture despite what liberals here in America believe. He truly is the hope for all nations.
