Ann, well socialist vs. communist. It is said that some circles here are going the way of socialism so I don't want to classify it as communism. gg. France is now socialist, meaning communist direction. Germany has a socialist party and a communist party, I think the latter is legal again. Socialism likes to take from the more well to do and distribute it to the less fortunate or the ones who don't care if they work or not. It depends on the situation. Very smart cos. have to yield a bit to the not quite as smart cos. gg. Hm, come to think of it, communism does all those things too.
Kim was imprisoned by the Military regime and now has finally got his day in the sun after 4 tries to be elected. It looks like he is still able to walk a little, so he will probably not be a sitting duck.
I just heard a commentary on NBR by someone named Sachs from a University who thinks the IMF is going to do dis-service to S.Korea. After all, they had a wonderful economy and low inflation and just got caught in that Asian Flu. But he feels that 100 bill. dollar package is not the right thing. Too many cos. could go under with what the IMF is asking those countries to do. So Kim could look at this situation again. Of course, they got their second installment today. Elections are expensive. gg.

It was not Asia or pre-triple witching that did us in today:

IT WAS RALPH ACCAMPOURO(SP). He had the nerve to tell every one just before triple witching that he is not quite as bullish on the market as before. He moved his 10000 forecast into 1999. What a nerve. He could have waited to tell us his opinion on Monday, right? What was the rush? I don't think it was his bonus. He must have made plenty of money this year, not like us poor investors. AND TO THINK THAT I USED TO LIKE HIM. gg. His timing was just dandy.

Intel did ok in this mess. Cpq came back. But investors in Dell must have thought what's good enough for M.Dell is good enough for them. Selling some Dell stock. I still got mine. Sheesh. Things are getting worse by the day. Now we have to worry that Asia is getting too much money and that could hurt them in the short or long run. Do you want to hear anymore? gg. Probably not.
