It is hard to fathom how dry it is in the Southern parts if your from the north and have not been there.
A couple of years ago I was in El Paso. The RIO Grand was basically dry. The Border Patrol was on full watch for Mexicans crossing. The word was they were saving the water in a reservoir upstream for use in the summer.
Our extreme water shortages still do not come anywhere close. Nothing has ever taken place here like what was done with the Colorado river. We could sell some water I suppose.
