David, interesting article on Mobile Asset Tracking by James F. DeRose which appeared in the November issue of "Wireless for the Corporate User" It provides a some history on the attempts that have been made to use wireless in this area. I know only enough to be dangerous but it would seem that Osicom's NET+ARM product combined with a wireless interface and a cheap transport method such as CDPD,
may help create some wireless/networked solutions.

Interesting reading anyway. Their Web site is WWW.Wirelessmag.com.
The above article isn't yet in the archives, however, so if its of interest I could sent it to someone who has a scanner.
