Brumar, how many people escaped from death row?

It takes about 20 years to administer the death penalty. There's appeal after appeal after appeal. There's even debate over how to "kill them humanely" and whether they'll feel any pain in the process.

If the concern is that they don't stay locked up for life, then just kill them swiftly. But we can't and we shouldn't.

That's the thing about killing someone. There's no way to reverse that decision. "Oops, we got the wrong guy. Sorry about that."

Not that it's much better when innocent people get locked up for life, but to cross the threshold into death is something I'd rather not take lightly.
