if you like the story a lot and the market is decent, you should expect the company to beat expectations the next time it reports and often will do the same the next one or two times after that . . the biggest gains occur during a four to eight month stretch of time and often the period of the big gains is a result of beating expectations and guiding higher . . can't participate in those gains if you get shaken out because of some chart action . . .

my guess is a few of the new buys during the past quarter will be up triple digits eight to twelve months from now if the market is up 10% over the next twelve months . . . this has played out so often that buying near the LP and holding until some simple rules force the entire position to be closed doesn't seem difficult . . requires a lot of patience and discipline, however . .
