Marc, I second your postive reaction to the parallel Sparq.
I run NT 4.0 also, with a Cyrix 200mx homebrew box. After a brief installation hassle (I didn't catch the instructions on the install disk and didn't see anything in the readme), everything worked remarkably well under NT and win 95. Excellent performance. With ECP enabled in my SuperMicro pmm98a MB, I copied all 700+ megs of stuff on the starter disk to a HDD in less than 15 minutes using a simple copy operation through NT's explorer--I figure a good 900k/sec at least. (It did put a fair load on the processor, tho.)
(Minor point--the included Syquest utilities don't work under NT. Helpfully, I did get a message indicating this when I tried to install them, along with a message to check the web site for updates--which were absent as of this post. Fortunately, they weren't necessary for all basic operations.)
I also agree with the comments posted in the helpful review below at Message 2958521, right down to the normally quiet operation (mine seems even quieter than his did) with the occasional clicking. A supplemental note: the power supply brick, while bulky, is high quality--it's switching, and does not run very warm at all.
I'm new to this thread--might someone direct me to any posts regarding revenue, profit, or margin projections by syqest? Does their 10Q do a good job of this?
Best,
