I said "may have bottomed out." This is based on the fact that copper
dipped below 80 cents and bounced back above, the fact that copper stocks broke their long string of increases and have recently shown
a drop, and a couple of opinions I read by analysts that demand is
picking up or will pick up. Admittedly these facts are not sufficient
to draw any definite conclusion, which is why I said "may have." I'm
aware that many are predicting weaker demand due to the Asian crisis, as well as more production, so even if copper has bottomed out, that doesn't necessarily mean higher prices. Perhaps we will languish at these levels for a while. The closure of gold mines may reduce the amount of copper mined, due to the fact that many gold mines also produce copper. I don't know whether the amount involved would be significant.

What's your outlook and analysis for copper?
