I'll BET we've been spending MUCH MUCH MORE on defense than the Russians have for the last 70 years! Every single one of those years. Do some research and see if you can find a year when the Russians outspent the U.S. on national defense. I'll bet you can't. So, if I'm right then all this stuff about us "outspending" the Russians into submission is absurd. It was Gorbachev that ended the cold war (for a while) and not Reagan. If you haven't noticed the Cold War is ON again and it's not because we aren't spending enough money on defense.
