I just got this from Briefing Com. << Ballard Generations Systems and GEC ALSTHOM will jointly invest $37.25 million to form a new company for the manufacturing, sale and distribution of PEM fuel cell power plants in Europe. Since the beginning of the week, BLDPF shares have soared from $59 (an improvement of 39%), sparked by news released Monday that Ford Motor Co. and German automaker Daimler-Benz plan to acquire stakes of 15% and 20% respectively, in Ballard Power in a plan to develope fuel-cell power components for cars by 2004.>> Opinions from anyone familiar with this technology. This news cannot bode well for our sector near term.
