It is fair to say that many, if not most, are scientifically illiterate. Which probably accounts for the junk science that has been applied to Global Warming.

I think a lot of it likely stems from the spinelessness that is rampant amongst liberals. Fundamental principles of the scientific method become infinitely malleable and tensile. The result is science that means at once nothing and everything.
