Nagel is an intelligent and honest atheist. Therefore his testimony is quite valuable. I give more credence to scientists than I do to philosophers.... You shouldn't. Scientists don't know any more about things outside their narrow area of expertise than anyone else. Brumar, I'm not trying to tell you or anyone else they can't believe whatever they want... Sure you are. Otherwise why speak up against it in the first place? You clearly want to support what you believe. I'd just like to be able to believe whatever I want to believe too.... No one's stopping you. That's what freedom of religion means. You can believe in the Christian religion or the Muslim religion or the Hindu religion or the myriad of other religions if you want to. I know.
